The Faculty of Industrial Technology was created in 2015 on the basis of Faculty of Technology and Mechanics. The main activity of the faculty is training of qualified specialists in the oil and gas industry, aimed at sustainable development of the oil and gas cluster, capable of combining resources of branch science and high school, innovative and cultural, to approve the role of AOGU as a leading scientific, educational center.
The teaching staff of the faculty consists of 63 people, including 7 doctors of sciences, 26 candidates of sciences and 17 masters. There are 18 professors, 14 associate professors, 21 senior lecturers and 10 teachers. The average age of the professor- teaching staff is 48 age, the scientific degree of the professor-teaching staff is 51%.
In the 2016-2017 academic year the number of students at the faculty exceeds 1500, of which more than 1000 students are enrolled in full-time.
Themes (works) of educational and industrial practice, course and diploma projects are related to oil and gas industry, technologies of industrial processes, ecology not only of the region, but also of the whole state.
Within the framework of the State Industrial-Innovative Development Program of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Faculty trains bachelors in the specialty "Chemical Technology of Organic Substances". Within the framework of SPIID-2, the state educational grants are allocated and students are studying on this specialty.
As part of the academic mobility, students of the faculty continue their education at the leading universities in Poland, the Czech Republic, Turin, France, China and Russia.
More than 30 teachers have been trained in US, Finland, Scotland, France, the Czech Republic and Russia.

- Improving the efficiency of processing and application of hydrocarbon raw materials;
- Solution of ecological problems of the region and complex use of associated petroleum gas for the petrochemical industry;
- Technological machines and equipment of the oil and gas industry;
- Oil engineering;
- Materials science and technology of new materials;
- Automated control system in transport;
- Transportation logistics and cargo transportation;
- Modern expertise of the ecological condition of the Ural River and the Caspian Sea and its coast;
- Scientifically-methodological basis of monitoring of anthropogenic sudden changes and ecosystem;
- Current state of vegetation and zooplankton of the eastern part of the Caspian Sea;
- Energy efficient construction using modern innovative materials in a rapidly changing climate;
- Searching for ways to improve the quality of electric power industry and solving problems;
- Condition and prospects of energy-saving technologies;
